This is the first newsletter created by the new executive committee, so if you have any suggestions, please leave your comments.
For those who were unable to attend the 7/8/09 Second gathering, I shall brief you a little about our progress. We started by introducing the new executive committee members to everyone, followed by a short introduction regarding the 'Opening Salutation to the Buddha', a short chant which is traditionally performed to pay homage to our great teacher, the Lord Buddha.
After that, we invited Dr. Ranjit De Alwis, our advisor to give a speech and we proceeded let each section committee describe their portfolios so that members get to choose to participate in the respective sections that they are interested in. Before we ended the gathering, Bro. Chen Yeh led everyone in a 'Sharing of Merits' session.
