Temple Visit

The society is organizing a short visit to the Buddhist Maha Vihara, Brickfields. This temple was built in 1895 during the British era and is now one of the oldest Theravada Buddhist temples in Malaysia. Sasana Abhiwurdhi Wardhana Society, the Sinhalese based society was responsible for the temple's expansions throughout the years and also forming the Buddhist Institute Sunday Dharma School (BISDS), making it a hub of Buddhist education from children as young as 4 years old and even senior citizens to adults. With a rich history and heritage, it is certainly a must-go for all Buddhist.

We will be having several activities there including a short tour around the temple compound, a dharma talk, get blessings from the Sangha and also perform Dana to the Sangha. For this visit, transportations will be provided from IMU but seats are very limited, so we will be accept participants in a first come first serve basis.

Date: 30 January 2010
Time: 8.30am
