Meditation Class
Ehipassiko!
IMU Buddhist Society is organising a series of meditation classes for this semester. The whole session will be led by Venerable Chang Wen. Various forms of meditation will be introduced which include the Eight-form Chan moving meditation, sitting meditation, sleeping meditation, standing meditation and walking meditation. Apart from that, there will be some sharing of Chan Wisdom stories and also some Q & A sessions regarding meditation.
Following is the biodata of Venerable Chang Wen
- disciple of Zen Master Venerable Sheng Yen
- receive her Bhikkhuni ordainment in 2005
- obtained her Bachelor of Science from University Putra Malaysia in 1995, and then further her study in the Dharma Drum Mountain (DDM) Sangha University in Taiwan from 2003 to 2007.
- held posts in various departments in DDM Taiwan, including Guest Master Department, Monastery Administration Department and Department of International Relations and Development
-Since July 2009, she moved to Malaysia and is appointed to be one of the residing monastics at DDM Malaysia.
- Forum speaker for the 2010 National Buddhist Undergraduate Conference, the 26th National Undergraduate Buddhist Youth Camp
- Guest speaker at Buddhist Gem Fellowship and Shah Alam Buddhist Society
The first meditation class will start tomorrow, 20 July 2010.
Time: 7.30pm-9.30pm
Venue: MPH 5 (3.02.07), IMU Bukit Jalil Campus
